Hi :D

I have a 8g Nuvo sumped with a 10.7. The sump contains a skimmer, GFO reactor, ATO, doser, and refugium. It gets a water change once a week. This tank is on its way to being more SPS dominated in the top half.

I also have a 6g fluval edge NPS tank. This has the stock HOB filter with GFO, purigen, and carbon in it. It receives large water changes once or twice a week to balance the nutrient input. This tank gets fed 2x a day with powder food (reef roids or coral frenzy or a zooplankton flake) and 2x a week with a meaty blend of LRS reef frenzy, rods food original, squid, and cyclopeeze.

I am moving in two weeks as was thinking about throwing an overflow box on the fluval and sharing the sumps. my only concern is throwing off my reef tank. It is almost a year old and doing well.

Do you think it will balance out, or will the high nutrients from the NPS tank be too much for the sump to handle?

Thank You :)

You will probably be fine, half the time of any tank transfer, you will probably do a slightly larger water change any ways. The increased water volume will be good for both tanks!

oh yeah, not worried about transferring them just long term wise.

I agree with you on the increased water volume!! it would just be very annoying to me if I spend some large cash on SPS and then it ended up being too high of nutrients.
