shark help

i have a bamboo shark its been about a month since it hatched from its egg and now im starting to see some red ness on him/her



if anybody can please help me asap im worried, he/she didnt eat today but i fed at a abnormal time around 12 am got home late today so not to sure whats going on.

Looks like it is irritated or infected. It is very easy for them to get infections on their belly if they get any abrasions. Not sure of any cures for these infections. I do know they need a fine soft sand bed since they are always moving across the sandbed. If you do have a rough sandbed I would try putting it in your sump or something with a smooth bottom so it can heal. I would think there should be a dip that could help the infection.

So I am assuming you have a rough bed? If so you need to make sure to either go with a bb bed or sugar grain sand before putting him back in the display.

My shark was in a tank with a full triple sulfa treatment and he did just fine. No adverse reactions with it. YMMV but if you feel the need treat the possible infection that may be a start.

agreed on fine sand, sharks have very sensitive tummys and if you can provide something along the lines of sugar fine sand that would be superb

The shaek this morning was swimming around into rocks and flipping. Then it went up side doen for a bit and later flipped back ended up upside down im a rock, no clue whats happening

First if your shark flips upside down you want to right side him immediately, sharks can't survive on their backs for long! Second I'd try adding iodine unto your water, they sell it for coral dips and ect but the iodine will treat the infected area as a antiseptic like neosporin or bacitracin

well ive never seen him flipped hes always doing fine but then idk what happen i think it was my temperature it fluctuates between 77-83 thats way too much

Do you have a larger tank you plan on moving him to soon? What is the current state of your 90g as in, is it a reef tank with lots of rock and sand or just sand? zI would tend to agree that he is getting scratched and/or rubbing against too hard of sand.
Your shark will need a tank larger than 90g.

Any type of shark needs much larger than a 90 gallon. The rule of thumb is 3x length and 1.5x width. Honestly sharks should not be sold in the aquarium trade. No standard aquarium can hold a shark happily. The recommended size is 180 when the shark is 4 feet Long in a 6 foot tank and 2 foot wide your tank will be the same length as the shark and. No where near wide enough
