Hey reefers

This might be a crazy and stupid question but I was wondering about buying a shark egg! I have a 75 gallon aquarium with minimal rockwork. I heard the bamboo shark is a nice shark to have in an aquarium. I do have many corals as well but I heard their poop is very beneficial to corals. Is it possible to keep a Bamboo shark in my tank? Is it reef safe? I know it gets big but will It stay small long enough to have it for a few years? I would be so excited if this is possible. Any thought?

Thanks

I haven't kept any sharks myself. But my understanding is that they grow fast. As in would outgrow a 75 in less than a year.

While fish waste can be beneficial to coral, too much is not and messy eaters like sharks leave little bits of food behind to decay which then turns into excess nutrients.

I would strongly advise against getting a shark. It also might not be as easy to re-home as you think. So unless you have a tank ready to support it for many years I really wouldn't.

Its possible, youll just have to weer it to be healthy. Making sure it eats and such, after about a year-year 1/2 theyll get to about 8 inches and growing. Im sure you know itll get bigger and its not right to keep it contained in a small tank nd whatnot. Im pretty sure theyll try eating small fish, crabs, shrimps ect.. if you do get one, do some research on how to get it eating, because its game time the second she breaks out

lol I prob won't get one I wouldn't do that to an animal but if it was possible that would be awesome lol. What about Eels? What are some kool eels I can house in my 75 gallon?

Golden dwarf moray is my favorite reef safe-ish eel.

Definitely not a good idea. You may get 6 months out of him. There are some nice dwarf eels out there though.

There are some cool eels that would be fine. And engineer goby's are another good option. They get up to around a foot and aren't an actual eel but still look like one.
