They are an Elacatinus. Peaceful toward other fish, though aggressive with congenerics if not a bonded pr. They will provide a 'cleaner service' eating certain external parasites and dead and damaged scales. They are easier to keep than cleaner wrasses, though they usually don't live much longer than a year.Anyone mind giving me your personal experience with these?
Worth the heartbreak? I may think about a pair here soon before I go wrasse crazy again hahaha 125g 6ft is what I haveI loved my Shark Nose Goby. It's tank mates were a Powder Brown, two Clowns, a Tailspot Blenny, and a McCosker Flasher Wrasse, I never had any problems. The tang initially didn't appreciate the Shark Nose's cleaning but eventually came around. The only thing I didn't care for was whenever I had to stink my hand in the tank he would clean my arm, not a pleasant feeling in my opinion. Sadly he died of unknown causes. I will definitely be getting another once I complete my upgrade.
Interesting, hope we get someone to see and chime in.I had mine for about 6 months. Around the same time he died I was battling a massive aiptasia outbreak and some were fairly big. I'm not sure if aiptasia pack enough of a punch to kill a fish but if they do I have a good feeling they killed the Sharknose.
