Sharknose goby experience

anyone have a sharknose goby w smallish fish? Do they pester the fish at all like a hear blue streak wrasses can? It’ll be housed w coral beauty, yellowtale damsel, royal gramma, 2 Percula clownfish... things of that general size. 2-4 inches.
Also, I read they’re best housed alone unless they’re a mated pair. Would you risk 2 in a 55g? How bout a 100g (planning an upgrade but will not buy fish according to upgraded size until I have the tank just in case things don’t go as planned)

I dont think they would pester thr fish too much, i think they would set up a cleaning station in your tank and let the fish come to them rather than pester like a cleaner wrasse, if you could get a pair it would be cool as they are easy to breed which would be fun to see them look after eggs lol. Idk about how easy they are to pair but if you got a mated pair im sure it would work. Im not very experienced with them but from researching them this is the best answer i can give you

I have one. He hangs out in his live rock tunnel most of the time. When the fish want to be cleaned, they come by and wait outside, he pops out, cleans them for a minute then pops back in. Never chases fish around to clean them. I have a blue throat trigger and a marine beta. They both leave the goby alone and love to get cleaned as well. As far as pairing, I’m not sure, but they’re great tank mates!

IMO these are some of the best cleaner fish out there. They don't harass any fish and are full of personality. I've kept Neon's in the past and recently bought a Sharknose to replace my old Neon (kept him for 4 1/2yrs). They are a blast to watch and their tank-mates learn very quickly what they do. I've never seen them bother smaller fish at all. All the fish in my tank know where to go if they need a good cleaning, even my clowns enjoy a good cleaning and they're constantly laying eggs. This small group, which includes the neon, sharknose, hybrid and yellow line are great fish to add to any reef environment. For me, they are a must have fish in my tanks. They are captive bred and easily accept prepared foods and pellets. Best cleaners, evaaaaaa!

I've seen bonded pairs on DD, so keep an eye out for them to show up.

do larger fish generally leave them alone if added after them? my lfs had one and it was TINY, like 1/2" tiny and i was like oh man my fish would probably just eat that thing

Nice fish! Qt one for couple weeks but after introducing to Dt it disappeared. I believe my Basslet and Hawkfish were the problem. Someday i will try a pair.

If you have predatory fish (hawks, larger basslets, etc...) introduction could be problematic. Acclimation box could give you an indication to predatory responses from said fish.

Can I ask how big your tank is? Do you have a lot of pods/algae? How often do you feed them? I read they need yo be fed several times a day u less they have access to natural food throughout the day? If that’s the case, I might go with a neon blue goby instead. What do u think?
