So I had to move the shaving brush and trim it the other day, noticed there was a little stick thing growing out of the base. I wasn’t sure it would survive the move, the stick thing that is, but today it looks like it has 2 sticks/stalks growing out of the base. . . Will these become new shaving brushes?/Is this how this algae propagates?

Yup! That’s new growth! The mature specimen is said to die as new shoots sprout up (though I have only experienced this with Udotea so far).
