Does salt have a shelf life?
I have two unopened boxes from three years ago.
Felt the bags and the salt is tight but I do not know if that is settling or from a reaction.

My better judgement tells me to throw them away but if there is solid proof that it's still good then I'll use them.

I'm not sure about a shelf life or expiration date... I know that if the salt has clumped, don't use it. It needs to be loose and dry

There are definitely grades of clumping though.

Open a bag and if it's hard and won't break down easily, then you've surely lost some mineral comment to precipitation. Maybe mix a batch and test it to see how good/bad it really is. If it's bad at all, then consider pitching it, or maybe coming up with an alternate use.....fish-only water, maybe?

But it might easily break back down into powder once you open the bag and touch it. If the clumping is very minimal like that, I'd very likely still use it. Maybe still test a batch to get an idea of any changes, but I'd bet on them being small. (I'd allow for some deviation from normal though.)
