I moved a black and gold maxima from my Nano tank that was crashing into my large display about 3 weeks ago. Haven't noticed any shell growth but the clam looks great. Its sitting in around 200 par so I know the lights are borderline. I really have no room in the rock work to move it up so may need to get rid of it. How long would you wait to see what happens before making that decision. It really looks great otherwise.

If you don't notice shell growth in a month or 2 I'd be concerened. It's getting enough light to provide basic functions like respiratory, ect, but new shell growth means it's getting enough carbon energy to grow which is what you want. Sorry to hear about your nano tank. Give the clam some time.

Sometimes the new growth might be a tiny amount and it's hard to see too. Just to keep in mind.

Was it growing in the nano? Moves and stress can make a clam back off on growth, but if it was growing, then it should start again.
