Wow. So sorry to hear of your losses. I am going full QT setup and just dropped in 3 Blue Reef Chromis. I am hoping for the best following a strict QT regimen.

And don't forget to quarantine anything thats wet for 76 days - even corals and inverts. Of course that is if you want to run a parasite free system. The parasite eggs can be on corals and inverts (snail shells, etc.). As can nuisance algae and aptaisia....

I actually want some chromis once I can get all this under control.

UPDATE:
The tank is settling in it seems. The pods I added about a month ago have multiplied and are now all over the glass at night and early morning. They can be seen on the sandbed jumping around during the day too, so im happy about that. I don't have a refugium so I just injected most of the Algae Barn bottle into the sandbed with a long feeder tube. Seems to have worked very well!
I have a little algae but the yellow tang keeps it from getting out of control - its not hair algae, more like big, leafy stuff. Maybe like a lettuce algae? I don't know, but the tang loves it. Havent noticed anymore bubble algae since removing the last bit couple weeks ago. Fingers crossed there.
Now, I'm not so sure that I have/had aptaisia. I posted pics on here in the Critter ID forum and the first replies were that it was aptaisia. But, as time has gone on, they havenet spread and haven't gotten any larger. They don't seem to sting anything. So, I posted some more pics and someone mentioned maybe hydroids. Maybe its that. Either way, it hasn't been a problem yet as I just cut them out or put superglue/epoxy over them (they are tiny little things, with two hairlike tentacles/filaments that come out of a hole). So far, that has worked so ill keep that up for now.
In sad news, we lost Nemo (our last clown, the smaller one). I had him in QT and everything seemed great. He wasn't showing any signs of sickness. So I put him back in the display. About a week later he was gone - this time, it looked like Brook. Skin sloughing, no real noticeable whitespot. So, I have no idea why or what parasites are in my display at this point. And further, why my remaining two fish (yellow tang and court jester/rainford goby) havent succumbed to it. Maybe the shrimp are cleaning them up? Maybe they are immune? Maybe they are lucky? I have no idea.
I do know that we want to replace the lost fish. But, I cant do that until I'm certain that I've done everything I can to rid the display of potentially harmful disease. For now, I have been dosing PolypLab Medic for 9 days using 5 scoops per dose, max is 6 for my size tank. Havent seem any signs of parasite since starting it. But, I still think ill go fallow to be sure. Here's my plan:
Goal: 80 days Fallow
How: fishtrap remaining two fish and put in 20g QT already cycled and ready
Algae control in Display: started Vibrant 3 weeks ago
When: as soon as I feel like the algae is under control and Vibrant is working - dont want to remove Tang and have lettuce algae take over
Corals: will feed reef roids while fish are in QT, they should be fine

Well, we did it. My 2 1/2 year old daughter chose the color (white) and I clicked the order button yesterday (actually signed the freight doc today via docusign so it's on the way already)!! I am as new as new gets to the saltwater aquarium world. In college, I kept a 40g freshwater system...

Ok. So, I opted to use PolypLab Medic and it worked. Havent seem any signs of disease since the last loss. All other fish survived. Ive implemented a new quarantine process for all new additions. Have added new fish and corals.

Thanks!! I love it tho it's massive and I can't seem to find a spot on the rocks for it...prolly leave it and its new little Hellfire brother right there on the sandbed...
Its an Indo Gold Torch from TCK, the smaller one is new and its a Hellfire from LRO. Picked up both via live sale on here for around $200/ea.

Ha! Fortunately, no, its not. It is Ulva - more like a lettuce algae that my tangs love. Ive used one dose of Vibrant about 6 weeks ago and it killed off quite a bit. Its now grown back a little and I'm thinking of dosing Vibrant again to get it back under control...need more room for coral growth on the rocks!!!

so today my Alk is at 6.2 dKH....not sure why or how, but i'm going to do a water change to help bring it up a bit.. other params are okay (listed below). anyone help a rookie out and tell me how to raise alk without impacting the other params?
pH - 8 (seneye)
dKH - 6.2 (hanna)
Amm - 0.023 (seneye)
NO3 - 8 ppm (RS)
Sal - 1.025 SG (hanna)
Temp - 77 F (hanna/seneye)
Cal - 445 ppm (RS)
PO4 - 0.20 ppm (hanna)
Mg - 1375 ppm (RS)
Right now, all i have is PolyLab One (which i've never used, i've never dosed anything, just used water changes so far) as far as 2-part additive stuff goes....can i use this to balance my Cal/Alk or do i need to get something that will only impact the alk? Please help!??
FYI - tank looks great, fish are happy, inverts happy, corals are all happy for most part. i think a couple of the gonis aren't fully opening this morning but that's about the only thing i've noticed that is off...

If its in a area that you can scope it up, aka substrate, then I would just scope it up. If their is one visible aiptasia anemone, then their are more unfortunately. If its attached to the rock then I would use the aiptasia-x.

Don’t use any chemicals Aiptasia remover. The Aiptasias these days are monsters. Siphon them out if possible and try reef safe peppermint shrimp that will also eat them. The aiptasia will spread spores in your tank if disturbed by water flow or if by chemical aiptasia removal. If you have them on frags remove the frag and try to refrag it on a new plug. They are an epidemic in the hobby. I know that some will disagree but I’ve just battled them in my 200 gallon for a year. I’ve used every method out there and they spread. I went from only a few to over thousands. I just tore down my tank and started all over.

Thanks! I cant tell if it's attached to the rock or not. Think ill try to scoop the whole rock out with the substrate around it. Figured their would have to be more if there is one...stinks...

The aptaisia i found a few weeks ago was just in the sandbed - not attached to anything so it was very easy to remove thankfully. So far, I havent seem any others but I'm keeping my guard up.
In other news, I wish I would have listened to those on here that recommended I go slow-er in adding the numbers and kinds of corals I was adding. I went waaaaay too fast. I added SPS within the first 3 months, and this was my first system ever. They did okay for a while, but never really took off with growth - unfortunately not a single piece remains...and I spent some heavy coin on pieces like Walt Disney, JF Jolt and The Cookie Monster to name a few...my tank just wasn't mature enough. I xant go back, but I can learn from that mistake. Its been about 4 months since I've added anything and since the last of the SPS met their fate. Since then things have stabilized and coraline algae is finally growing everywhere. February will mark the tanks 1-year anniversary and I hope to try SPS sticks again. My remaining corals are all doing well now, mostly LPS and zoas.
What would someone who has experience with growing sticks recommend as the next step for successfully growing them in a tank that is 1 year old? I know chem-stability is key, but other than that is there anything else? Does having a larger BTA impact ones ability to successfully keep SPS corals?
