I have a 3/16" of fall in 2'. Anyone ever shimmed a solid based stand. I could shim edge and take solid base out.

Not sure what you mean by "solid based stand"... but you can shim the bittom of the stand and fix that drop easily. I used the composite shims on my stand... worked great.

Solid base as in. One piece of wood like plywood. If I shim edge of stand it will leave a gap under plywood. If that makes sense. Guess u could knock base out shim edges

Ok, I understand now with the base. I have a 2x4 frame on the bottom. What kind of floor is under the stand, ie: carpet, tile, etc...?

I cut carpet out put 3/4 plywood braced floor etc. Going to set stand and put 6" tile around it. This is a cherry stand it's on. Tank is a 4' 150

wow...over 4 foot span, that stand has an imbalance of 3/8"...that seems quite significant when thinking about the water pressure on those "lower" joints in the aquarium. I think you need to figure out a way to shim that somehow, whether its on the floor or the plywood directly under the tank possibly? Overall look would be better to shim at the floor, though. You might want to get this thread transferred under the DIY forum...a lot of stand builders in there that would probably have some really good ideas on how to correct this.

I have 1/4" shims under my tank stand in one side. My house is 100 Years old. We are always correcting for how the house settled over the years. I put my shims under the stand frame this made the bottom level, as well as, the tank level. the sump is good and the tank is good.

I would not recommend it. I always shim my tanks before I put water in. It is better to haves them level at the start.

If one gets out of level, I would drain the tank to shim it. I would want to know how it gotf out of level.
