Shipped coral

I ordered corals online for the first time. 2 Zoas and 1 micromussa sent out on 7/6 and arrived 7/7 around noon. Unfortunately I had to go out of town before they arrived. I had someone put the box in a cooler part of the house but I won’t be able to unpack and acclimate until sometime today when I return. I’m hoping they will survive. I would like to go through the acclimation process and dip, possibly change the frags before putting them into my tank. Can I can still do all that? Any advice.

Well the zoas will probably be ok. The Micromussa might not be as happy. Going to be hit miss depending on how hot it is in your area and how quickly they got put up. Zoas can stay closed up in little water and be ok. Not so much with Micronesia.

Dipping the zoas and everything might not be that bad but may stress the Micro more depending on the shape of it, but you got to do what you got to do.

If you have qt tank or temp setup tank. You could always put in there without dipping to get them going. Then dip later before putting into system.

Thanks for the quick reply. I actually do have a qt setup but I have been holding it for several weeks waiting for my clowns to arrive (the logs is holding them for me u til next Friday). May not have time to break it down and clean for the clownfish (work and all). Or maybe I’ll dip and not take the extra time to change out the frags (as that would the first time I do it). Not sure yet but any thoughts are appreciated as I am new to the hobby.

I would put the coral in the qt for the time being just so you can dip them later. I wouldn't think that you would have to break down the qt and set it back up.

ok. Yeah. Qt’ing so that they can just get out of their current environment with the least stress sounds like the way to go. My qt is bare. No rock or bacteria. Is that ok for the coral? Do I at least go through the temp and water acclimation for the qt (given the the coral we’re in the shipping container an extra day)?

you can use some water change water from DT ,a bucket will help it .

im almost home to take care of it. Do you think I should float and water acclimate or put right in?
Also if or once I transfer to my aquarium do I need to disinfect to get ready to qt the clowns I’m getting next week or just change the water? The qt tank is bare- no rock.

So the shipped corals were well packaged (this coming from someone who has never received shipped corals but look well packaged). I took them out. Did a quick rinse with my qt water and put into my qt take. Did not want to waste anymore time. I will add some pictures. Comments/criticisms/advise welcome.
