Shipping coral

Thinking about shipoing some sps to a friend in ny from south jersey. How would I go about this to minimize losses? And what carrier would be best. I guess im most worried about them asking what's inside and stuff. What do you guys do?

See if a LFS will give you a enough bags to doubl bag everything. I use 2 rubber hands to close each bag (then each double bag). I get the 3/4" styrofoam purple insulation from Home Depot and cut pieces to insulate a box. I strongly prefer FedEx, but occasionally uses USPS express for instate shipments. I only use heatpacks in the winter months. If you can limit you water weight and use a box with sides under 12", and sign up for a FedEx account you can keep your costs down.

Fedex might ask if you take it to one of their office shops. I am a few miles from the airport, so I like to buy my shipping label online and then time things so that I'm dropping off 30 minutes before the deadline at the airport. That way I can use standard overnight and still have less than 24 hours travel time.

I meant to add that they have never asked me about the contents at the airport when the label is prepaid.
