Another option that I've seen at least one shipper do was to mount the frag on the inside of the lid, fill the jar with water, screw the lid on and transport it with the jar upside down (so the frag is right side up and fully submerged).
If the frag is on a plug, a drop of super glue may be strong enough to temporarily hold while not requiring much force to remove it.
