Shipping delayed, what's your experience?

A Black Friday order of mine shipped yesterday from Jersey to South Florida and this morning it says delayed, arriving tomorrow. Temps here are mid 70s, it's freezing in Jersey. What has everyone's experience been with delayed shipping? This is a box of acros btw.

Coral - no issue
Fish- Not so good

if its UPS or FedEx, try to contact them and have them hold at facility for pickup. With this option, theyre not on a cold truck for a few more hours and you can open and inspect and either refuse it based on DOA or accept. Take pictures in case of loss and claim with shipper

What are the temps where it is delayed?
FWIW I used priority mail from Ohio to Vermont many years ago for lps, took two days and they were fine but temps were in the 60's.

I also had this happen with a Black Friday coral shipment. Really not a good idea in retrospect due to all the shipping delays from everyone buying on Black Friday. Glad I didn't get fish. Corals arrived 36 hours late but no issues.

Just grab it asap most times two days is fine ime it’s happened to me so many times.
if you call FedEx you can usually have them hold it at the sort facility for pickup when they open at 9am as this is what I do, this way you get it as soon as possible.

UPDATE: thank you for all the replies, this community is awesome. UPS now says the package is in Miami gardens which is the final facility before it hops on a truck and delivery date was change back to today. I considered requesting them to hold it but i don't think it's necessary. The temp here is 75⁰. Things are looking good
