Shipping frags to Hawaii?

Don't think it would be illegal. Still in the USA. Collecting frags from there may be a different story though.

I know IPSF out there ships to the continental US

Thanks guys. So no one has done this then? I think I'll be playing it safe and tell the guy he's out of luck.

If you enjoy your reef tank, and the fact that you don't have to share your reef tank with "Bubba" :D, definitely don't get sucked in shipping to Hawaii.

You wouldn’t think so but Hawaii is definitely protectionist in its views of things. So much so that they do not allow any type of fruit or vegetable to come into the state. Much like customs. They are even more so with their wildlife/marine life.

Agreed, take it from a former local. It's illegal. All of the specialty fish stores did not carry any corals as well. Saltwater fishes are ok, however there are regulations.

On the opposite side: I recall having to obtain an agriculture cert on every shipment of freshwater fish (Show Guppies and Bettas) I've shipped out of Hawaii. They are very strict on outgoing shipments, as I recall accidentally capturing a small strand of algae in one of my bags. I had to remove the algae before it would pass agriculture inspection.

No importation of any invertebrates to the Hawaiian islands is allowed.
It is illegal to keep any hard corals or natural live rock in captivity.
Illegal to collect Hawaiian hard corals and live rock from Hawaiian waters too!
So basically you will need to get use to fish only tank!!!
