What are my options for shipping live fish if I'm shipping from Hawaii to the mainland USA?

I find it impossibly confusing navigating shippers websites and price charts. If anyone with experience or some understanding could chime in, I'd appreciate it.

Are these fish you collected, or purchased on one of the islands? If purchased and returning home, I would box up the fish in a styro and bring them on the plane. The fish might even get their own seat seeming as nobody is flying currently

I live in Hawaii, so I would be looking to ship fish that I've bred to people that buy them from me.

I would call the local collectors. They would know more than anyone the requirements for shipping back to the mainland. Depending on the final destination, the fish may have to clear through a "jobber" in a place like LosAngeles or San Francisco.
Hawaii being a weird state with very stringent rules when it comes to importing and exporting livestock probably also has info available directly from Hawaii Fish and Game..
You may have to prove captive breeding to be able to ship certain species. I also know that for Marine fish, a proper permit needs to be in hand. Last I heard, they weren't issuing any new permits pending further litigation.

A permit for shipping marine fish or for breeding?

Shipping.
Hawaii is in the middle of a fierce battle currently between Fish and Game and a group of people... Whom are a bit extreme in their views.
Makes bringing in or exporting more difficult than it was a couple years ago.

Do you have a source?

I can't seem to find anything on it.

Look up pijac.org/aquatic
Or you can go to the state site and search "ornamental fish exporting" and the like.
This has been going on for a few years now

Here is also an older link. There has been some movement, but to the best of my knowledge, there are no new permits being issued and existing permits will not be extended or reinstated once they expire.

How do you ship fish that you have collected?
