So I've ordered corals online now for a while from a couple of vendors and a bunch of individuals. I would say that 95% of the time things have gone perfectly. My question is this. I just received some corals that were what I would call inadequately packed at best. They were bagged and heat sealed in little compartments that leaked into the bigger compartment so that when they were flat in the box they were not covered in water. And no cool packs even though they were being shipped to Arizona in the summertime. Most of the time I have received coral it was in specimen cups with the plug rubber banded to a piece of styro or in a solo cup with a hole for the stem of the plug to sit in. The way these last corals were shipped also caused one of the paly frags to be smashed cause it was packed upside down. They are looking horrible and not even looking like palys yet. What should I do. They were not DOA but SOA( smashed on arrival). I feel that If your going to ship it should be done appropriately so as not to incur damage and any damage done should be on the shipper regardless of them arriving alive. If online vendors shipped damaged corals and said " Oh but it arrived alive so suck it " I think they wouldn't be around long. What are everyone elses thoughts.
