I've seen a couple people on EBAY shipping zoos for around 8 to 10 bucks , for priority mail. They claim most zoos and some leathers can handle, the longer shipping. they say some zoos are dry shipped over seas?????? I don't know if I would chance it for the price of some of these zoos. Maybe an experienced zoo shipper or vender can chime in on this topic. Less money for shipping more for zoos. THANK YOU!!! Miyags.

I have heard of the no water technique and that's how it used to be back then as well. It's not "dry" but wrapped in a moist towel or newspaper.

Exactly. You would think more people, would ship zoos for less money, to make more sales.

I know you can ship them that way, but my favorite method involves specimen cups and a foam cooler :)

i always ship in a specimen cup and styrofoam container. the weight of the water in the cup is negligible to make sure it arrives happy and healthy. imo if ur gonna pay the price for a coral, pop for the best shipping method.

With the specimen cup and styrofoam, do you ship priority mail or overnight???

Priority & Express mail have a lot more risk envolved. Priority is 2-3 days and Express is 1-2 days, dpends on where you live and where you're shipping to. Then you gotta worry about heat/cold packs lastting for the whole trip and if you ship Priority and it ends of being 3 days and you put a 48hr pack in, you could end up losing everything. Same holds true even with overnight shipping... Some heat/cold packs are duds. Last for a few hours if that. Once you kill a lot of animals shipping Priority and Express you will learn not to use them. They can be effective but not recommended.

As for dry shipping... Thats only for overnight in some cases, depends on the coral. Years ago I was shipped some zoa's (not zoo's, a zoo is place where you keep animals, ZO rhymes with TOE is in reference to an animal...) and mushrooms and ended up with melting zoa's and mush without the shrooms...
