Mods, please move to the correct location if needed, wasn't sure where to post this.

I normally don't post reviews (good or bad) on here, but I wanted to tell you about my expericences with Shipwreck Cove Corals. Dan and Brett seem to be great guys. They tend to respond quickly via text, and genuinely want to help.

My first experience was with SCC via the "One of a kind" thread (http://reef2reef.com/threads/whos-ready-for-something-truly-1-of-a-kind.213289/). I purchased $365 of corals on 9/13/15. These were 2p each of Candy Apple Kings, King Koopas and Ultimate Bowsers. Dan sent me tons of pics of other zoas he had available, but I decided to stick with my original order. These were from Brett's collection, and he was out with his child's birth. Trust me, I understand when something comes up, so I was ok with waiting a little longer. Corals finally shipped on 9/29/15. Seems like Dan had plenty of trouble getting to fedex, but the corals finally came. 16 days to ship....

More recently, I participated in the SCC Super Sale (http://reef2reef.com/threads/sunday-october-25th-scc-super-update-sale-raffle.218206/) to give them another chance. I purchased $440 of corals on 10/25-10/30/15. I was fortunate to win one of the raffle items, and I'm grateful for that. Apparently Dan was sick during this time, so i tried to cut some slack. After numerous texts, I finally got him to ship out on 11/4, much more quickly than the last time. I get a text from Dan that he cannot find one of the items I purchased (Lion Heart zoas). He did, however, replace them with something else (Dr. Pepper zoas). I'm not too hard to please. Later in the evening, Dan sends me a pic with my shipping label. All is good, but it's not my name, or my address. After a phone conversation, and a trip back to fedex, he get's it sorted out. Corals came in today...

Everything generally looks good with a few exceptions. Red Robin is a fresh cut with a good bit of glue.... Limeade is not the WYSIWYG piece I paid for... I texted Dan, and he say's he will send the correct piece next time. Sorry, but there's not going to be a next time. He finally agreed to send the correct piece on Monday. At this point, I don't have alot of faith in it happening...

I'm big on small business and customer service. I've seen a number of good reviews for SCC. I ordered thousands of dollars of coral from live sales and auctions here on r2r. Why am I having all of the bad luck with SCC?

Not sure it is bad luck. I won a giveway and it took multiple followups to even get the frag. It was supposed to be a two week old healed rr orange passion. It was a discolored fresh cut of something that last a week. Not being at all impressed, i have pulled my reserves from ever buying anything else.

Dan must have a lot of personal issues going on and running a business is not easy, but you still have to deliver to entice a new customer. Maybe in the future things will improve.

I have order over 800 dollars worth of corals from them last month. All his corals came in with great colors except 2. He offer to refund or send a replacement if they don't color up or die. His communication and customer service is one of the best I have come across. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again . Happy reefing

I actually agree with the both of you. It had been a bit difficult taking care of my store and online especially this week with my ear. I am definitely changing things up here and going to be more on top of it. I'm sorry I sent you the wrong frag and will be sending you the one you ordered on Monday with another freebie on top of the previous freebies i sent you with the order you just received. The same goes to you Ppi, i will give you a $50 credit incase you do choose to shop again. I'm sorry to the both of you and anyone else that might have had issues.

Just wanted to give my experience with Dan and Shipwreck Cove Corals.

Ordered about $400 in corals from their live sale back in October. When they were shipped out it was very cold where I live. Upon my shipment arrival, unfortunately their was no heat pack inside the box. The water in the bags was so cold that condensation was collecting on the bags. I lost 11 of the 12 frags due to the extreme cold.

I almost immediately upon finding the condition of the box upon arrival I called and talked to Dan. I explained the condition of the box and the freezing cold water. Dan with absolutely no hesitation told me he would replace all the frags that perished. I was relived to say the least!! He even offered to bring the frags and meet me a little more than halfway to my house!!

This past Monday, I was in San Diego and gave Dan a call. Even though it was a last minute call, he again without hesitation said he could open up the store (found out they are usually closed on Mondays) to meet me and get me my replacement frags. His store is nice with lots of selection. He even swapped out a frag or two for some frags that caught my eye.

Just want to say thanks so much Dan for the stand up customer service and for standing behind you product and shipping!!!

Definitely a stand up vendor!!!!

Thanks again,
Justin
