Shoo shrooms!

I need to remove some shrooms. They’re just plain red shrooms... nothing special. But they’ve decided to have babies in the middle of an acro garden. Is there a safe way to remove them that won’t kill them?

They’re pretty hardy so even if you injure it, it will likely recover. The easiest thing would be to use a screwdriver to chip off the piece of rock it is attached to. Then you have a new base to glue to and there isn’t leftover tissue which might grow into a new mushroom.

Can you get your hands in there? I've had great success removing xenia from rocks using a piece of gauze. I fold the gauze and hold it between my fingers. It allows me to get a firm grip on the xenia and pull them completely off the rock.

I've never tried this with mushrooms, but now I might have to!

Good ideas. I’m not sure about the screwdriver. Like I said, this shroom is in the middle of abt 12 coral frags. But I’m gonna try.

Can you snip the mushroom's disk off with scissors, and cover the remaining stump with a piece of rock or a shell to keep the stump from growing back? I've done that before too.

Maybe. If I snip it off maybe I can cover the stump with super glue. That will certainly kill it though, right?

I use a thick kalk slurry to kill my red mushrooms. A small amount on a mushroom does the job

Yea... I’d rather not kill them. I have a softy nano I’d like to put them in. I was worried that if I tried to pull them off I would kill them... like an anemone. I only want to remove them.
