Hi All

I'm planning to get some fish today, normally i quarantine my new fish for 1 month before transferring to the DT. This is annoying and planning try a different method as follows

Keep the fish in Copper for 6 days and do a Tank Transfer and then start Prazi. Again I'm going to do a TT after 48 Hours and then observation for few days

please tell me will this work?

My thinking is Ich or Velvet trophont stage will be completed by 6 days, since I'm doing a TT i don't have to worry about the other stages

Thanks

FZ

I think you need to be prepared just in case it doesn’t work. Also I thought the tank transfer method was 7 days not 6.

Last question, is short cutting worth risking all the livestock in your DT?

Short cutting is not worth it. Ever.
"It's annoying" is not a good reason to risk every fish you have in your system. 6 days of copper and prazi is more than likely not enough to get everything. You have other parasites and infections to worry about than just Cryptocaryon and Amyloodinium.

Thanks for the response guys

As i said, i will be transferring the the fish only if I'm 100% sure if they are okay. believe me I've burnt my fingers

it seems all the advise in the internet is for without tank TTM. In that case yes we have to stick to the standard protocol.

I feel by combining TTM and Copper/Prazi, i can cut short the time in QT(which not only annoying and risky as well :) )

@AcroNem

can you let me know what other infections i should be mindful about? thanks
