Should a new glass tank be completely scratch free?

Haven’t had to buy a new tank in awhile and I just received my new glass Fiji cube, cleaned the glass and noticed there are a ton of scuffs and scratches. Is this normal?

I hated how they shipped this with some of the attachments lose within the tank, (return nossle, bulkhead etc). Not sure if this would scratch the glass.

I mean I could probably buff it out but if I am paying 1-2k for this should I be expecting perfection?

Need to know before I reach out to them or not.

Yes a new tank should definitely be scratch free, I’d be pretty mad if it was me.

No i don't think it's normal if it's full of scratches and stuff. Offcourse i can't see how much there is but they should be scratch free from production right? Sounds like they have been sloppy with packaging.

On the other hand if you fill it with water you might not notice it. I had a 180 liters once that was pretty old and it had seen better days. When i drained it holy crap it was full of scuffs. But it didn't look half as bad filled.

If i where you i'd toss them an email. Light up the worst part (from the side) with a strong light and see if you can snap a picture of it too... good luck!

Agree— a) Should be scratch-free. b) Cost/benefit analysis as to what you want to do about it: Are the scratches in the front glass, and especially near the most viewable areas? Will they tend to disappear when filled with water?

Weigh that against the hassle of trying to get a new tank out of the manufacture. The bigger the tank, you obviously know the more involved/hassle that can be.

I know someone who went thru 3 tanks with Fiji Cube trying to get one that wasn't full of scratches. Seems like they don't know how to package a tank for shipping.
