I just got my 1st coral, a frogspawn, and was wondering if it should be removed from the plug it's on or no? And if so, how is the best way to go about it. Thanks!

I remove from the plug to further prevent the risk of any nuisance/pest being placed in the tank. The best way that I have found it to take bone cutters and cut them off where they meet the plug. They usually pop right off with the glue!

My lfs gave me the option to have it glued to a piece of rock rubble. I'm so glad he did that. Looks so natural and sits nicely on the bottom.

I prefer to take off plug.... but I have left some on knowing that it will grow fast and cover the plug..

1, use two little fishies revive coral cleaner i like this stuff .2 put plug in sand, just anuff to hold up coral. This will give yourself some time to place the coral in the right place in tank, may take
a week, unless you know the best place for it.
3, on frogspawn you can take the plug off but on other coral like zoa you can let them grow off the plug and then move to another place in tank or sell them. Hope this helps.
