Hi reefers,

I've spent the last 8 months building a pretty cool set up.

This has been a lot of fun putting together so far, a few tasks left in the fish room include the ATO plumbing along with a fully automated water change run off Apex breakout boxes, for the three systems.
The tank details;
QT system a 90gallon split tank up top with an 80gal sump.
Frag system 90 gallon up top and 90gal sump, 6bulb T5 lighting and little HOB skimmer

The main system is 2 90 gallon bins for the sump,
1 120 gallon bin (future predator pond)
1 120 gallon 4x2x2 tank
Stocked with 8 rose bubble tips and soon 20 clowns with 2 snowflake or dragon eels
1 240 gallon reef
I'll list stock a bit later

Welcome to R2R;)

Tuesday will mark 14 days in the reef for the corals and 7 for the fish.
I had the system cycling for around 5 weeks prior to the first additions, all the rock had been curing in the sump bins for the duration of the build.

If you're wondering about the size of the system itself, it came about when my LPS announced they were shutting down. I was then able to purchase the QT, FRAG and the 120G display with sumps at $0.50 a gallon, including heaters, skimmers and media canisters. I was also able to purchase the ZEOvite reactor, media and supplements along with a 2L Vertex media reactor and all the live rock in the store (around 750lbs @ $1.50 a lbs) including the storage bin(part of my sump), canister filters and powerheads for a fraction of what it would have cost. I also was given 12 pales of substrate from the in store tanks.

The announcement that the store was closing happened 3 days after I had agreed to purchase the 250 Gal tank that was to be my first saltwater tank. This too I scored an amazing deal on as the manufacturer had built it custom for someone but to the wrong dimensions 30" wide instead of 24".

One other deal to mention was on the 6' Vertex 360 Illumina, a 40% off sale from BRS
The Skimmer I spent some of the dollars saved on and imported a Bubble king Deluxe 250 internal with the RD3 Speedy
Current powerheads on the Reef are 2 Tunze 6155 pumps and on the other display a Gyro
Apex Gold Controller with a PM1, PM2 two break out boxes 3 8 outlet power bars give me amazing monitoring and control.
I have a WAV starter kit on order and will be moving the Tunzes into the frag tank and into the pond display.
Also have a a Neptune dosing pump currently dosing VSV and will likely switch it over to 2 part and move VSV onto something else.
A auto feeder is also set up to be added to the reef tank.

I've just ordered a Coralife UV sterilizer for the system.

So that's it for the time being as I've said above this has been an amazing project to put together from the beginning, right place right time and enough space to accommodate a full on fish room.

Cheers,
Travis
