I have a Biocube 32 and I don’t like how white the daylights and sunrise/sunset lights are. Could I add an Orphek OR3 or a ReefBrite Actinic Blue Lumi Lite Pro or something else to make the blues during the day, sunset, as well as nights look better? I still have the Biocube lid on so I would mount it underneath the hood and make necessary modifications. Also, would these lights be too close to the water and could they be turned down to a reasonable level?

I’d look at the 21LEDUSA dot Com. 453NM ACTINIC Blue Reefbar. The Lights are waterproofed, and trim enough to fit next to the existing light. On mine, I did have to make a trip to the hardware for a Bolt End Cover, to go over the link connection.

I saw someone make a video on these and they added them into the Biocube. I will definitely take a good look at these. Did you add these to a Biocube or to another system?
upon a further look, the Orpheks wouldn’t work because they’re too big. ReefBrites are still an option though.

Also, would you recommend the pro or the regular version? I know you mentioned the regular but is there any major difference between them that I should consider the pro?

The 36” Pro is 37-1/2” Long and includes pull out wire extensions. 2” wide and 3/4” high, not including the pull outs. Has 18 Blue Lights and 18 White Lights. The Reef Bars are 36” Long. They would need an inside hood dimension of 37-1/4” to allow for the power input and output cords. ** 3/4” wide and 5/8” high. If you are planning to put these in an old fluorescent hood, they won’t fit in a 36” hood, too long. Both are extremely resistant to water and salt creep. Which is not something I can say about some name brand Reef Bars and Strips. All are Dimmable and work with the low volt programmers. I actually have a programmmer that was in a 24 volt light that works these 12 volt lights. ** The Reefbars have a Feed though cord for linking lights together. They are great for starting on a budget and adding fixtures as your coral selection grows. Also great for DIY Hoods.
