I had a pair of neon gobies (E. oceanops) since either late 2012 or early 2013, affectionately referred to as Thing One and Thing Two.

Thing Two recently died, and I'm considering adding a second to attempt to re form a pair. I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not. Should I leave Thing One as a bachelor or play match maker?

I also can't find info on whether or not neon's are hermaphroditic or not....which would make this decision easier!

How big is the tank? blue neons are like clown fish in term of gender changing. They change gender accordingly. However, I am not sure how they change gender from male to female or the other way around.....

They change gender female to male. But I would be reluctant to add another to one that old. If the older one doesn't accept the newer one, it could end badly quickly.

The neon goby is nearing the end of it's natural life, they only live a couple of years. If you want a pr, then wait for this one to pass and get a pr together.

In that case, I'll just wait. Peaceful is my goal with the fish in this tank.
