Should I be concern with my bicolor blenny?

Hi,

My Blenny has been in my qt tank for about about 6 days now, and he has been shy for the most part, but he has been coming out more and he randomly started to twitch/spazz/scratch on my pvc pipe. I was reading it could be flashing or dominance? I don’t see any dots or anything on him that would indicate ich.

He hasn’t done it again, but should I be concern?

I’m starting my copper qt and it’s roughly .35-.45 (coppermine) been slowly ramping it to the recommended.

After viewing the video, another possibility is gill flukes. Normally, the QT protocol calls foe praziquantel after the 30 day copper treatment. If the flashing continues, you may need to use prazi simultaneously with copper rather than waiting. Be sure to have extra aeration during the prazi treatment to maintain oxygen levels in the water.

Thanks, I'll get some prazipro, would you recommend just putting in a small wave maker like a Syncra Nano or another airpump/airstone

It’s been only 2 days and I’m certain there are flukes as my 2 clowns and firefish are all flashing now, but I’ve notice my water getting alittle more cloudy after dosing prazipro. I read it might get cloudy and a water change should help. Should I wait until the 7 days as recommended or do the water change after the first dosing is complete? I have 2 air pumps going.

Short vid for reference, but it’s hard to see the cloudy waters in it.

I would wait unless the cloudiness worsens. Prazi encourages bacterial growth, hence the need for aeration. After several days, prazi diminishes, that's why you need the second dose. Some even dose a 3rd time particularly if flashing continues beyond 1st dose.

Hey sorry to bring up this thread again. This is week 3 going into 4, I've been dosing my Cupramine which ends this week and alongside it I've dosed Prazipro due to flashing early on. This is the 4th dosing of Prazipro I have a 29 gallon and been dosing 7.5ml after each weekly water change around 30% water change as I've been doing 10 gallons each week.

I noticed today that there were signs of flashing, I haven't seen since the first week. Is it possibly that flukes can live that long or maybe it has become a learned behavior? Is there any other treatment I possibly could take?

It's only my 2 clowns left, as I lost the blenny.

OP I'm not very experienced but mine was doing them same and pretty sure it was gill flukes. I didn't treat properly and it eventually killed him. I've ordered prazipro to have on hand now.
Edit: just saw your most recent post. Sad that you lost the blenny. Strange the prazipro didn't help. Did you freshwater dip by chance?

A possibility is that the species of flukes affecting your fish is one that prazi does not control. If you don't have corals or invertebrates in your tank, you could try hyposalinity. I did a freshwater it helped atleast the clowns, it may have killed the blenny.

Thanks I'll give it a try. Yeah this is my QT tank so only PVC are in it.

I didn't see anything particular fall off, but I did notice little white things at the bottom once it settled, it didn't look like sesame seeds like other videos I've watched, idk if that's because my clowns are still very small, 1 inch or alittle less.
