Just picked up this IM 40 on OfferUp.
Cleaned it up, and noticed the silicone on the front right seam is somewhat lifted.

Should this be of concern?
I attached a pic of the ID sticker for reference.

What do you mean by “inner seal”?
Normally there is the seal that holds the panes together and then an inner seal that sits on the surface of each joint inside the aquarium. I only see the seal that holds the panes together and that would explain that damage because a razor blade would get in there. If there was an inner seal that would be less likely to happen.

Not my picture but you can see the inner seal.

I understand what you mean. IM used black silicone here, and it looks like there is indeed an inner seal. From the top view, I believe you can see the seal holding the glass together, and then the inner seal I’m assuming.

When I push on the inner seal over the area I’m concerned about, you can see the silicone touch the glass, as it becomes black again.

Oh I see that is the inner seal. It's no problem at all other than some algae might get under it and look ugly.

That’s good to know :)
Thank you!

is there anything I can do to prevent it from getting worse? I was thinking take an extremely fine tip and squirt a tiny bit of loctite (whatever it’s called) glue in there to basically fill it.

That could work, maybe some super glue. You could also trim it back past the damage but you would need to use a straight edge or it would like crap. Their silicone is so straight - that's why I thought it was the glass edge with no inner seal.

Hahaha I thought the same thing when I look at the picture I posted- wow it’s so straight that looks like the panel seal.
