Should I be concerned about this thing?

What is this? It looks like it's collecting sand to build itself an exoskeleton or something. First thought was a starfish but its got too many appendages, next thought was some sort of parasite, but I've never seen one survive without a host.

Its got what looks to be 7-10 tentacle looking things that are black and white, and ranging from about 1-2 inches all the way up to about a foot long. The shorter ones are thicker, the longer ones are like a fine thread.

Since the beginning of June. It's cultured live rock so I'm sure there's a bunch of stuff in there that has yet to make itself known.
