Hey guys and gals, I figured if any site could help me this one could! Midday Monday I was doing some routine maintenance on my tank and stupidly forgot to wash a new filter sock. Needless to say my skimmer has been going balls out since that moment. I took it out and made sure there were no obstructions anyplace and there's not.I have about 30 gals of total water including 8 in the sump. Would a big water change help this and do you think I should maybe clean my skimmer/return pump and if so with what??

Any help would be appreciated... besides telling me to wash the filter sock lol...

Your tank will be fine.. I forgot to wash out a sock once, but then released that there is also a second filter in my sump that will catch anything it might release.
if you feel the need to, check your levels, and do a 10% water change and call it good...

I have a 29 gal tank and a 8 gal sump as well.

Agreed.
Check your params, if you need a water change then go ahead and do one, but not unless you need to. The tests will tell you whats going on.
