I turned the lights on today, i still didnt fill the tank. But i noticed that some rocks have no spot of lughts at all, and some spots on the sand no spots of lightd as well. Im super worried. I dont know how that works? Or even if i dont see the light spot on the rock that doesnt mean the light is there? Im confused.

Unless you have a perfectly flat surface, you are going to have shade spots...just a matter of fact give your lights. If you want the best coverage, you need multiple angles of light (or T5s). I would actually say you are fine. If you are doing FOWLR, who cares. If you are doing corals, some corals want a lot of light and others dont.

In short, you are good to go.

I agree with above. I like having some shaded areas for corals that prefer low light.

I understand that. But when i look at tje lower part of my rock. I dont see the light on them at all.

If that’s a radion, look into ReefBrite’s XHO K15 kit. It’s two small XHO led strips that mount to the sides of the radions. They swivel so you can direct light wherever you need it. It’s not exactly a substitute for T5s but it does great at eliminating shadows and filling shaded areas with blue light.
I have some mounted to my radions just a few posts down in my build thread if you want to see what they look like.

Unless you are talking perfectly flat or a pyramid structure, you cant get around this. some corals do prefer shade and they will grow out. Ultimately, if you dont like it, you can still change it.

Maybe what you are concerned about isn’t obviously visible in the picture but it doesn’t look bad to me. Also, I would finish filling it up before worrying. With the tank filled with water the light will likely be different because of the refraction of the light.
