Should I be feeding my chocolate chip?

I have a chocolate chip starfish and he seams to be doing well. Should I put a silver side in the tank on occasion to feed it and the crabs? Thanks

I have a chocolate chip in my sump (display sump and it cannot eat my coral there) and I fed it small pieces of shrimp once a week. If it is in an established aquarium, it does not have to be directly fed, and will eat anything the fish miss. It will grow a ton faster if fed, as well.
