Should I be worried about these mushrooms?

Hi all,

I moved a rock that had a single mushroom off the sand into the general rock work. Since then it started too drop little ones, over the past 2 months I have 5 new ones.

Should I be worried that this will take over?
Can mushrooms sting other corals?
The original one is now trying to move up the rock work.

Those are pretty, but invasive. Yes, they can sting other corals.

Those look like red discosomas. They can grow pretty fast and become evasive. They’re cute in the beginning but it’s just my opinion that they’re ugly when they start to cover the whole rock.

To add to your question, yes mushrooms can sting other corals. I’ve personally only seen mushrooms fight other types of mushrooms. They have mesenterial filaments hidden away in their mouth that you rarely if ever see. I had a Ricordea and a rhodactis fight each other and the Rhodactis got half of its fleshy part melted away. However they both have never bothered other corals that are touching them.

I agree, that can sting, and grow very fast

Thanks all, I will move them back down to the sand bed, maybe see if I can get a big rock for them to spread out on but not to the main display.
