So I moved my RMF Raspberry Limeade frag to a different spot in my tank about 3 week ago and since then it has had poor polyp extension and color so today I pulled it to cut off what still looked good and saw this mark so I thought I would snap a pic and see what you think. Parameters are good and this is pretty much a sps tank all other corals are fine just an issue with this one.

How long have you been keeping Acros?

That could be AEFW bites but hard to tell with the top cut off. Acros don't like to be handled and this will sometimes set them back as well.

You say parameters are fine, which frankly is a big red flag for those of us dumb enough to keep acros. :D

Fine means the same day to day with very little changes. Fine means you do something very very small and wait 3 or 4 weeks to see any improvement.

So without knowing anything else about the tank I'd say too hard to tell, we need more info. How long have acros been in the tank, did you dip and what did did you use? etc.

I have been keeping acros for about 6 years now, my cal is 420/Alk 8 I really don't test mag, Nitrate 2 and .03 phos on hanna. I haven't added anything to my tank in about a month and everything that goes in my tank gets a bayer bath. the only thing I have changed over the last month is my lighting I went from black box leds to radion, I have been having trouble with this acro coloring up and then in the last week poor polyp extension on the base but fine up top so I decided to cut the top and start over with that. I know numerous people that have had AEFW so I am very careful what I add to my tank, like look at everything with a magnify glass careful, so I am hoping it has something else to do with lighting or placement so kinda got concerned when I pulled it out of the tank and saw that mark, because it does look like some sort of bite mark, there is also another one on the other side that I couldn't get a good picture of. I guess I changed my powerheads also to a icecap 3k from 2 pp-4's but that was just 2 days ago I was already having issues before that. and acros have been in this tank for about 6 or 7 weeks this tank was a transfer from another tank rock and water, new sand was used

Your lights may have shocked the acros during the switch. What percent are you rubbing them at? Also as for the mark, do you have any Angels? Butterfly's?

I am running the sps ab+ at 75 percent, I don't have any type of nipper fish I was just curious because I am use to seeing Rtn or stn and this seemed to start in the middle

If it's just one acro ... you know. IF you have LED you need a PAR meter in my opinion, we can't judge the light levels. I would think, but I don't know, that light shock would show up on the branches, not the base.
