I purchased this 42g corner tank on CL from a guy who said it was a couple years old and it was full before I picked it up with no leaks. I tested it by filling it up for 48 hours and it held fine. Didn't have a drop of water outside the tank. I emptied it and let it sit with a small amount of water and went to give it one more clean and saw what looks like condensation behind the silicone at the base. I checked with my finger and none of the silicone was pulling back and it looked like a good seal, but the condensation bubbles have me a little worried.

Thats just a silicone bead along the seems, the true seem is inbetween the glass panels, thats what makes it water tight, and bonded together, not the bead along the seems.

Looks like they resealed it, I wouldn't get any sleep with something like that!

I agree, but if its been resealed they would have had to cut the old silicone away compromising some of the integrity of the boned ends, no?

The outter silicone won't affect the silicone between the panes, to hard to get there.
I don't even have the outter bead on my 240g tank, just what inbetween the panes, and then you can see a bubble or 2 in that bead. I'd not be to concerned about it. That silicone bond inbetween the glass is pretty tough.
