I recently moved a rock around a bit to get to some aiptasia to kill them (these things are like aids), I held the rock out of the water for less than a minute and put it back. I couldn't exactly get it to line the rock up as it originally was....sigh. Anyway my main question is: after the moving around my Oregon tort frag has not had any polyp extension at all and I've noticed a little white spot under a shaded area of the frag where a 'branch' is starting to protrude casting a shadow. The frag is still growing and encrusting and color is good. Its almost in the same spot, could be slightly closer up to the lighting and in a little more flow but not much of either.
Params are:
DKH - 11
PO4 - Undetectable
NO3 - Undetectable
Calcium - 440
MG - 1380
Salinity - 1.025

I have been trying to raise nitrates and phosphates a bit but so far I am unsuccessful. Also I have cut down dosing my 2-part by half (now dosing 5ml each part) for around 2 weeks and my alkalinity has not dropped, no idea how this is possible..... I also cut back on vodka dosing by 1/2 to try to get nitrates up a notch.

All other frags are fine except for a green slimmer which refuses to color up, polyps are green but body is pinkish.
I don't want anything to happen to my tort, its one of my favorites. :(

So it turns out that the frag in question started to stn.... I glued over the peeling parts and the tip looked weird so I broke off a tiny piece at the top... Hope this helps.now my frag is 1//4 gone.....

Here you can see where I glued over and snipped the tip. Its not so good quality cell pic

So do you think I should go back to the original dosing scheme?
Everything else seems fine though...

I wouldn't see-saw your parameters back and forth. Stability and patience is the name of the game with acros (and reefs in general.)

ok, well I keep it as is now and monitor my params and hope for the best :)

any idea why my alkalinity isn't dropping btw? shouldn't it have dropped a little by now as the dosing was cut in half for around 2 weeks?

I did not see where you post the test kit/method?

If the tank has nothing or little to consume the trace elements the slower the decline of the values. The consumption of my tank always decreases if I have been move things or messing in the tank.

My Tort always did the best under strong indirect flow and the most intense lighting. They can be picky with regard to polyp extension.

test kit was api and double checked with red sea. haven't been messing around except for killing aiptasia with aptasia x. there is more than 20 frags in the tank and most are growing like crazy. even the tort was picking up some good growth before this.
I have my tort at the highest point in the tank and its the closer to the other end of my tank from the powerhead.
