I have been in the market for a 120g tank to upgrade my 60 cube.

Found this deal - seller wants $ 1500 firm.
Not that the seller is not forthcoming, but seems busy and said is not in dire need of the money. Makes me hesitant. It is about 2.5 hours away from me.

Pictures look ok. Needs a cleaning.
That's about all the details as I have been able to get..

Saltwater reef tank.
DSA 120 gallon reef with custom sump 48x24.
Black stand & canopy
3 led lights 2 Vegas and 1 hydra
External pump (reef flow)
Hydor protein skimmer for 800 gallon tank
Rock
Bio pellet reactor

Sounds good but do you pictures and quality of the pumps? If the pumps are junk, the equipment doesn't matter much as you'll spend on new pumps.

Got nothing. Thats it. For all I know it could have leaks.
I asked about these things but did not get a response.

Yeah, don't buy it. At least not IMO. If he won't tell you about leaks you could end up spending the money and have a nice empty glass box. Plus it's 2.5 hours from you. Holy Schnikies!

Sounds like a decent deal, but if the seller isn't willing to work with you then don't bother. There's probably some small issues he doesn't want to share. Even if it's in perfect condition, he's going to make it a hassle.

I mean if it was a closer drive, you could go inspected it. 2 1/2 hour is a pretty good distance to drive.

Yeah and you're in CT. [HASHTAG]#ctars[/HASHTAG] has a pretty good group here. Join the group and you'll probably find better deals.

Every used tank I have bought has leaked. Three of them total. Moving a tank puts stress on the seams and if you haven't broken it down personally and know how it was taken down I wouldn't bite the bullet on it. I always reccomend new when it comes to Tanks.

Look on the for sale sections of the forums and local forums. I picked up a nice 120 for $200. Building my own stand and bought a new sump. I am taking it slow with the upgrade but I have the lights and skimmer. You can always put your system together by buying things second hand here and there or buying new here and there. Sometimes buying package deals don't work in your favor. Just food for thought
