Hi All
Trusting there is some experience that would help me make a decision. I found online a new in box but I think older Red Sea Max 170. It is not the E series and it comes with T-5 lights, skimmer, pumps the whole package and the stand.

I am about ready to jump on it but I want to make sure it isn't too old. I know the new ones have the Red Sea Reef90 -but it is new in the box.

Thoughts? Should I jump on it?

Price?

Cant beat new. depending on price, it is well equipped and likely a good move

$700. They will counter back at $750- That would be my target as it is an early version

There you go !! The Art of negotiation !

Okay so I drove down to get the tank and inspected before giving them any money- the glass had a crack. It’s the glass that is between the display and sump. They ended up giving it to me for free. Is there a way to fix it?

Not the best picture but I was just able to open it up. I’ll try again in the daylight tomorrow. This is the right rear of the tank in between the display and the rear sump. Tomorrow I will pull the tank all the way out and inspect further but it appears this is the only damage.
I was able to find the model it is a Max C-250.
Think I can silicone on both sides and use it still? I would do a leak test of some sort as well to make sure it will hold. But the right rear chamber is a return back to the tank.
Looking forward to your thoughts.
Either way I have the stand and all equipment that came with it so not a bad find.
