Should I care about my PH?

My tank is about 3 months old. 140g mixed reef, IO RC salt with BRS two parts dosing
Alk ~7.6-8.0
Cal 400
Mg 1300

PH avg around 7.8,
If we are doing heavy cooking in the kitchen (where the tank is) it would dive to 7.7.
If I dose ESV bionic alk to do minor adjustment it could go up to 7.9 and then drop back down
I have not made any attempt to directly alter PH yet

Softies and LPS are growing well. SPS are growing slowly but not dying.

That pH is OK. Higher may be better, but not worth agonizing over unless hard coral growth rate is critical..

Thanks. Out of the solutions you stated, what I already have:
  • Fuge with chaeto running 16 hours a day offset with my 8 hrs reef photo period
  • Whole house fresh air intake system that draw in fresh air periodically and circulate
If the pH stay stable at this spot it is probably is fine. I'm just worried that I'm so close to the edge that if strange happen I won't catch it quick enough?

I would 100% agree with Randy. Don't chase your PH numbers as they look fine to me. Sure they could be higher but is it worth the trouble, not likely.

Spend more time chasing alk : )

A quick pH drop, such as during a party at your home, generally isn't a problem. :)

Quick question, if a person does sustain a higher ph, say 8.3 in tank, do uln rules apply towards alk level since it will drive coral growth?
