Should I continue to use my MP10qd with bad bearings (maybe)?

Last night I was doing a water change and just as you guess it, I bumped into the dry side and it fell on the ground and immediately started to vibrate and make noises. I've done some digging around, even disassembled the pump to see if I could identify any apparent damages. I couldn't.
Anyway, my question is, can I continue to use it in the meantime while I get new bearings or a replacement? My concern is worst case scenario the pump blows up and starts a fire or something.
Cheers.

Usually, its best not to use something like that. BUT - if its not warm, and depending on the amount of noise, etc. my guess is that it would be fine until you can get a new one (ASAP). I would also guess that you could get a cheap power head - and set it up - instead of using the damaged one. The third option would be to just leave the pump off for a short time while you get a replacement.

I thought the moving parts are only on the wet side

There are numerous threads about this - the noise after being dropped. The common wisdom is that the bearings can be replaced for about 20 dollars - but you have to make sure you get the right bearing for the exact model (year made, etc) that you have. You can also buy a new 'dry side'

Yeah, I have an Aqamai KPS that I use alongside the Mp10. I also just put in a spare little ac hydor pump that I use to mix saltwater in the meantime.

I think I have the right bearing size (from a previous thread) that I'm going to order from BOCA Bearing but they're closed during the weekend. I might just buy another dry side too, just to have to it.
