So I have a stylophora frag that was attacked and flesh taken from a filefish that went rogue. the base trunk was most kept intact but the upper part gone. I decided to leave it but seems the bare skeleton is getting algae on it. Should I cut it off or let it go? if so how due I cut? Never did it before. First photo immediately after eaten. Second one with algae growing on arms. I guess you can almost tell where there is some flesh as the algae is not growing. Thank you

Yup, I would frag that, it usually goes fast that stuff.
We don’t want an algae on the skeleton.

Is is simply just cutting it with pliers or something.?

I had a monti digi that went through the same thing. It’s been a few months and it’s slowly growing back over the old skeleton. It has fought off the algae and overgrown it. There’s hope for dying corals if properly cared for.
