Should I cut or not cut this sick mushroom?

This mushroom used to be happy in full light after I got it. About a month later it started going downhill. I put it in low light a month ago, but it just keeps getting worse. It seems doomed. Should I cut it into sections and hope some live or something else?

Not much experience here, but my mushrooms shrunk up with good water numbers also. I hit it with carbon and they came back. Just my 2 cents.
I had a toadstool that was having issues and thought maybe it was polluting the tank.
