Hi! My green Sinularia frag have been tied down to a piece of rubble since last sunday, trying to make it set foot in a hole I drilled.
Do I dare cut the band or should I let it sit longer?
On one hand I am eager to place the frag in the reef and remove the glass its in, but on the other hand I do not want to wait another week if it floats away upon cutting the band.
Cut or wait, what do you think? :)

Any evidence it has grown significantly and so might have attached itself?P robably not. Personally, I would wait unless you are in a real hurry and in that case I would add coral glue in the hole without removing frag first.

I would wait. I made a bunch of frags a couple of weeks back and almost every single one detached. Every single one did detach with rubberbands, a few seem to be hanging on with toothpicks and glue but I won't be touching them to confirm for at least another week.

If I had a little more space in my frag tank I'd just stick them in a basket with rubble for at least a month then check on them. Compared to toadstools, and kenya trees and even real slimy stuff like xenia or cespitularia I have found sinularia to be the hardest to attach in my experience.

Thanks for all the advice! I will be patient and let it be for atleast another week. I am in no rush to remove the band, but more so remove the glass its in.
Do you guys see any harm or issues with placing the frag where I want it while having the rubberband still attached?
Can stronger current and light prolong the time it takes to attach?

You can cut But have another ready in case it did not take to the rock
