I picked up a Lubbock’s Fairy Wrasse recently, and it has been in quarantine for about week now. With the help of another member, I picked up an Exquisite Fairy Wrasse today and added it to the quarantine tank so that they could be treated together, if needed, since they came from the same LFS system.

There has been some quarreling, which includes chasing and a little nipping, but I anticipated a little aggression at first. You can see the behavior in the attached video below.

Should I let them continue to behave this way under supervision for a short time, or should I divide the tank in hope of a smoother acclimation? I go back to work tomorrow, so I want to ensure that I don’t come home to one, or both, harmed.

I picked up a pet container so that I breathe more easily while I’m at work tomorrow.

I don’t think what I saw was too bad. For your peace of mind while away at work put in a divider. Remove it while home and continue to monitor their interaction.

I didn't see anything that's worrisome. Just keep an eye on them. If the Exquisite starts hiding all the time or not eating well, then separate them.

By the way you don't have a Lubbock's in that tank. Looks like C. cf cyanopleura.

I’m glad that you were able to identify my wrasse. That’s exactly what I have, and my display will be too small for it.

If you will have more peace of mind, I bought a nice 20 gallon divider on Amazon— you could have it in 2 days.
