I usually to a 5 gal change on my 25gal tank every sunday night but, all the levels have been exactly where They need to be and stable all week. My tank has been up for 5 months now. So do I still do it or leave.it alone?

I think I’d cut that in half. 2.5 sounds like a better option.I usually to a 5 gal change on my 25gal tank every sunday night but, all the levels have been exactly where They need to be and stable all week. My tank has been up for 5 months now. So do I still do it or leave.it alone?
Every 2 weeks is basically cutting it in half and a good choice to keep the tank healthy. The OP can continue testing and see how the tank responds.Go to every 2 weeks
I was doing 5 gal on advice from my FLS to replace trace elements. but being stable seems to be more important.Depends on what you are doing water changes for. If it is simply to export nitrates/phosphates or replace the major elements that we test for, then there would be no reason to do a water change. If you are also using water changes to replace minor and trace elements that we can't test for then I would still do the water change.
That said, 20% a week is a pretty robust water change schedule. You are not going to crash your tank by skipping a water change for sure.
Correct, they only supplement some of what you change water for. But, if everything is where you want it you don't need to dose either of those.I'm also thinking about starting to dose all-for-reef or kalkwasser. That should not take the place of water changes thou right?
