Due to a velvet outbreak I'm going through a fallow period and although it's advisable to wait a full 76 days I was wondering if dosing Medic would safely shorten this period and deplete the parasite population enough to be able to add fish sooner. Would it help or just be a waste of money?

On the Contrary, i used Polyp Labs Reef Medic for Ich and it worked fantastic!! I had NO issues with my corals or Inverts.

I've heard a lot of good things about it but would it make any sense to dose during a fallow period?

You can, it will still take the same amount of time to kill the trophonts. I used it for 20 days in my active reef and no more Ich.

Have a read through the disease section......

AGAIN....
THERE IS NO SUCH ADDITIVE THAT IS REEF SAFE, AND ACTUALLY EFFECTIVE AS A TREATMENT FOR ICH, PERIOD.

As it pertains to the OP's question, waste of money if your already going fallow.

I've got Velvet problems though
