.
I have a Japanese type 44 carbine first generation war prize gun he will accept. He is on the better side for 1 k.
.
Should I just wait to put my own system togather with all the learning gained there.?
Can someone move and set up such an established system with no knoledge?
Are there any issues you can see in the poor photos with the inhabatents?
When moving system can it be changed?
Add 2 inch sand?
Ues existing sump for overhanging refugium?
Add larger sump more area more stuff?
ATO, etc.?
Suggestions?
Can't help thinking this wrong thing. Will never be my baby I conceived and brought to life. It will be to much to fast.
Sorry long

Oh yeah is this to much $$, and does acrylic make good salt water aquarium.all the scraping needed.

Acrlyic is very clear but can scratch if your not careful.

The price seems about 50% cheeper than if you bought it all new.

I wouldnt use the same sand, a 10 year old tank must be full if everything.

If your knowledgeable enough to keep those corals alive, and you dont mind loosing a gun (that you cant buy again) for an aquarium that you could buy, then its worth it. :)

That's my question I'm not knowledgeable enough to add water. This will be the first gun I have ever sold or traded for anything.

Its easy once you know the basics. You must test alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, salinity and phosphate.

When your alk is low add approriate amount of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate).

When your calcium is low add appropriate amount of calcium chloride.

When your mag is low addd magnesium sulphate and magnesium chloride in a 1 to 7 part ratio.

For phosphate just use gfo or an algae turf scrubber.

Or do daily water changes if you dont want to test and dose.

I'd pass and start my own. New to the hobby and a tank transfer (including move) is going to be tough. People with experience lose coral in similar situations.

Also, those clove polyps look nice but can be very invasive. Notice how they are all over the tank. I'd pass on that alone. They can out compete other coral.

That gun will continue to hold value. That tank setup will not. Things will break and need replacing. There are better deals to be had.

If you do go used look for a dry setup. You'll be able to check everything out more thoroughly. You also won't be rushed in setting it up.

I think it will be best to go slow and thegain the basic understanding of the dynamics. Lol a good cycle is just what I need. Thanks everyone. It's good to talk with someone that's walking the walk and my LFS is about 50 miles.

Probably best to keep researching to make your own mind on what size tank, equipment etc you want. During that time and as you're piecing together a system you will learn more about what it takes to keep a healthy tank. During the cycle you'll learn even more! It would be much better than trying to move a system that's already established that you really don't know what all has been done to it. I think the odds of crashing the fully stocked tank would be much higher than if you were to take your time and build yourself. Plus you will have much more pride knowing that you single handedly created this environment from the ground up.

I would pass too.
Way too many things to go wrong with moving a system.
I hate acrylic....but that's just me

Pass it up. The buying of materials and the work that goes in to your tank is going to be way more satisfying than you just buying everything set up. You can also take it as slow or fast as you want so you don't mess up. Also if you do your own set up you will have everything you want to have instead of settling for whatever that guy has to offer. I don't know a whole lot about guns but as it was mentioned earlier, that guns value will continue to increase but that tank won't lol.
