I am upgrading my tank after 7 weeks. Out of room! 40 corals and my rock stack doesn't provide much room around the sides to place corals especially near the bottom and I just want a bigger tank! So I'm from a 15 Gallon Colum tank to a 24 gallon JBJ nano. I currently run a Cobalt Neotherm 75watt heater. Should I upgrade to the 100 watt? I keep it in my small hang on back refugium in the entry chamber (first chamber). I just got it a week ago so I could return it (Amazon) for free and upgrade to the 100 watt for an extra dollar. If it's not necessary though please let know. It will fit in the fuge still but it will take up from almost the bottom to the top of the water line as it's 3" longer than the 75 watt. Opinions please....

3 watts per gallon is a good rule of thumb. Is it holding consistent temp?
Yea it's brand new. Really nice heater. They rate them for 20 gallons so I would just barley be past it once my rock work went in and displaced a couple of the 24 gallons. It's probably fine.

Not every heater brand is as efficient as another. I need more total stated watts using Cobalt Neotherms than I do using Eheim. I need three 100W Cobalt Neotherms to heat my 53 G with 29G sump while two 100W Eheims work fine

I would just add another 75 Cobalt Neotherm and use two, and that way you also have some redundancy in case one stops working. FYI, I've had Cobalt Neotherms get stuck ON before so be aware of that

I run 2 150watt heaters on a 90 gallon, it's rare when the second heater comes on.

I'm in Texas, so I don't get huge swings in the house.

I've never heard of problems with the Neotherms. They're one of the best heaters on the market hense why I bought it. I'll keep an eye out for that though #joec. I'll probably just upgrade to the 100 watt. I don't have room for two.
