In my personal experience with them, I think they are a bit of a hassle. I love corals like Fungia, and I also have other corals on the sandbed almost all the time, so that may be a bigger thing for me. But in my experience, they seem to be really jumpy (in both senses of the term lol), and they don't have too much of a personality, more of a "sift sand, eat food and run from scary things" program. Some of them, like diamond gobies, get pretty big too, so they may not be the best. But, if you like them, get them. I'm just sharing my thoughts, and it seems most others have had better experiences than I have with them.
Though, if you want a super cool, personality filled fish, I very good one is a zebra bar dartfish. They have tons of personality, in that they construct burrows, they live in pairs, and they do a cool mating display thing(search youtube for Zebra goby mating dance). Another cool thing is that they only get to like 6" max, and they don't seem to mind other dartfish at all in my experience.
That is just my penny for thought, good luck choosing!
God bless!
