Should I get the Diffuser for the XR15?

Greeting Reefing Community,

I have a 18x18x12 frag tank coming in a few weeks and I recently Purchased the Radion Xr15. The only corals that will be going in the frag tank will be SPS. I'm wondering if getting the diffuser would be a good option or should I just use the lights as is.

I'd say it's more of a personal choice really. If you like the more blended look and feel it's worth it, go for it. If you're happy with the way the stock XR-15 optics look in the tank, I doubt you'd be able to tell the difference in coral growth/health/etc

I purchased them for my xr30s and I have to say I'm really liking them. Gets rid of a fair amount of the disco ball effect and makes it look more like metal halide lighting, at least in my tank. Spendy but overall I'm happy

I have them and like them on my display tank. I don't think I'd spend the money for a frag tank, though. Unless you like to sit and watch your frags grow.

I have a lot big colonies to cut up thats why I got a frag tank. I sell locally a lot so its easier to have them ready instead of going into my display and cutting.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll try out the XR15's first see how everything does. If i have hot spots then ill try out the diffuser.
